Wendell Willkie Day Celebration (Adults) (Elwood)

Join us as we celebrate the 84th year since Mr. Willkie accepted his nomination for U. S. President in Calloway Park August 17, 1940.

The following special guest speakers will be attending:
Lou Gerig will be moderating the presentation. Mr. Gerig graduated from Wendell Willkie HS Class of 1964. During his political career, he was Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Dick Lugar and Assistant Press Secretary to White House Press Secretary Jim Brady during the President Ronald Reagan administration.

David Willkie, Wendell Willkie's grandson

Michael McQuillan, Collector of Willkie material. He will have some items on hand.

Stephen Jackson, Madison County Historian

Marvin Crim, Wendell Willkie HS Class of 1957, will be unveiling his painting of the locomotive that brought Mr. Wendell Willkie to Elwood on August 17, 1940.
Postcards of Mr. Crim's paintings will be available for sale. Prints and t-shirts of his paintings will be available to order.
